Police arrested two Carmel High School students Feb. 19 for making threats referencing gun violence on social media.

Police did not release the names of the male students who were arrested as they are juveniles, but both have been charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony. Both students were transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to CPD, investigators believe the threats were fabricated by the juveniles and they did not have means to carry them out.

The threats were made through the Snapchat app. Police are urging anyone else with information on the threats to contact the Carmel Police Dept. at 317-571-2580.

CPD will increase its presence at CHS Feb. 20 as students return to classes after a scheduled three-day weekend.
