According to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was patrolling 96th Street and stopped to check on the Honda. The female occupant, Mack, appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat with a seatbelt on and had what appeared to be vomit on her clothes.

Concerned for her welfare, the deputy made contact and noticed an alcoholic odor coming from her. A field sobriety test showed a breath alcohol level of .155.

Mack was arrested with a charge of Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC Greater than .15. She was released from the Hamilton County Jail the afternoon of Oct. 19 with a court appearance for Nov. 1.

During the investigation, a Lawrence Police Dept. badge and other items were found inside the vehicle. LPD officers have retrieved those items.
