The Carmel Clay Schools board of trustees cancelled a special session scheduled for 8 a.m. Oct. 4 just moments before it was set to begin.

School board members met for an executive session at 7 a.m. but said there was no action to take in the special session as a result of it.

“We scheduled a meeting in the event we had something we needed to discuss,” CCS Board President Layla Spanenberg said. “Circumstances have changed, and we did not have anything we needed to discuss.”

Public entities are required by law to post notice of a meeting at least 48 hours in advance. A notice for the special session went out before 8 a.m. Oct. 2. The district did not release an agenda for the meeting.

“If there were things we needed to share with the public, we would do that,” Spanenberg said.
