Morning crash leaves two in critical condition

A morning crash in Noblesville has left two in critical condition.

At approximately 9:42 a.m. this morning, July 18, police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police Dept. and Noblesville Fire Dept. responded to the intersection of Ind. 32 and Oakmont Drive in Noblesville in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, a 2006 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on Ind. 32 and was stopped in the roadway preparing to turn northbound onto Oakmont Drive. For unknown reasons, a 2006 Toyota Camry, also traveling eastbound on Ind. 32 attempted to pass the Ford on the left side. As a result, the Toyota Camry collided head on with a 2015 Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound on Ind. 32.

Police said the identity of the driver of the Toyota Camry will be not released until family notifications have been made. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was identified as Wendy Brewer, 43, Noblesville. She was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford was identified as Justin Laswell, 33, Indianapolis. He was uninjured and released at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Ind. 32 was closed between Hague Road and Hazel Dell Road/Little Chicago Road until approximately 11:48 p.m. today.
