Travel warning issued for Hamilton County

0

A Travel Advisory has been issued for roads in the unincorporated areas of Hamilton County. Unincorporated areas are those in which the roads are owned and maintained by Hamilton County rather than by cities or towns. Motorists may come across unexpected hazards, especially in the northern parts of the county, as the wind blows snow across the pavement and as melts from earlier in the day refreeze.

A yellow Travel Advisory is the lowest level of local advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas as roads may be snow covered, slick, and potentially dangerous.

Hamilton County Emergency Management along with the Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor road conditions and will update the advisory as needed. If stranded, involved in a slide-off or crash, or in need due to a weather related incident, contact Hamilton County Communications at 317-773-1282 or 9-1-1 for an emergency.
