Stoppages on Rangeline Road today

Crews will temporarily stop traffic between 12:30 and 3 p.m. today on Range Line Road at U.S. 31 as beams are placed for the new northbound overpass bridge. Police will stop traffic on Range Line Road for up to 10 minutes at a time while cranes lift the beams and set them in place. Traffic on U.S. 31 will not be affected.

US 31 traffic shift at Ind. 38 today

Crews plan to shift traffic on US 31 at Ind. 38 today. Northbound and southbound traffic on U.S. 31 approaching the construction zone will merge to the right lane on the proper side of the median. Southbound traffic will be shifted to the right lane on the west side of the median, and northbound traffic will be shifted to the right lane on the east side of the median.

This configuration is expected to last about one week while crews remove temporary pavement in the median. After the temporary pavement is removed, both directions of traffic will shift toward the median in the left lanes as temporary pavement is removed from the outside shoulders.

The additional traffic lanes and the new Ind. 38 interchange ramps are expected to open by the end of October.

Both US 31 and Ind. 38 will have a work zone speed limit of 35 miles per hour through the remainder of the project.
