Mayor John Ditslear and Hamilton County Commissioner Steve Holt cut a ribbon officially opening River Road on June 15. The ribbon cutting signified the end of phase II of the project, which reconstructed River Avenue from Westbrook Boulevard to Cicero Creek. The roadway’s pavement has been replaced and improved with concrete and the sharp angles of three separate curves along the roadway have been reduced to improve safety. While work such as grading, seeding, etc., will continue on the project and will at times temporarily restrict traffic to one lane with a flagger, access for through traffic will remain open.
