City Council members wondered Monday night why Frank Basile was not at city hall to give a report to the council.

A presentation from Basile, the interim president and CEO of The Center for the Performing Arts, was listed on the night’s agenda, but Basile said he was not scheduled to present his report until next month. Basile provided Current with a series of e-mails in which he is asked and agrees to give the Center’s quarterly report at the council’s Dec. 5 meeting.

In the e-mail requesting his appearance, the council asked Basile to provide updates on, among other items, fundraising, funding for the 2012 season, the Center’s progress toward an endowment and its internal audit.

Basile said the audit is not complete but will be finished in two weeks. Additionally, he said the foundation that runs the Center will select a search firm charged with finding its next president and CEO by the end of the month.
